Microphone For Canon 700D

Microphone For Canon 700D

Any recommendations for an external microphone for use with a Canon 700D? Thinking the shotgun type for general audio use? BTW I don't want to spend a fortune!

Cheers.

Need to make sure it has a mini jack connector.
I have been experimenting with my Rode NT4, seems to be ok.
There is no phantom power as far as I can tell so it will need battery power.

It is also a bit unusual in that it can provide stereo feed, but only using 3 contacts.
Have a look at the Rode series of mobile mix's.
Sennheisser and Beyer are better but more expensive.

I just tried my NT4 with a 600D today.
Worked really well.
Olie has a little clip he can pass on.
