Audi A3 gear knob

Audi A3 gear knob

Postby poprock » Mon Jul 06, 2015 2:38 pm

Has anyone ever owned an old Audi A3?

My girlfriend has one. Circa 1999 or so, I think. She’s lost the top off the gear knob and I want to find a replacement. It looks like the top half of the knob just glues on. Sound familiar to anyone?

eBay’s being no use. Euro Car Parts have nothing.

Any ideas? Or will it be easier to just unwrap all the leather and fit an aftermarket knob instead?

If there are no readily available spares, then after market would make sense. Have you tried German eBay? I can't even think what it looks like? They used to share so many parts within the VAG family. Maybe a 90's Audi A3 part will have be used in 2000 Volkswagen Golf?

Yeah, that’s pretty likely isn’t it? Parts-sharing all over the place at VAG.

I’m just being lazy. Glueing a top half back on to the stick is less hassle than unpicking the gaiter to remove the whole thing and fit an aftermarket part.
