Audi A6 - The New Daily

Postby Ecosse » Thu Jan 28, 2016 10:01 am

Sold the TT in December, so have been looking for it's replacement.

Was looking at A4/A6's, Passat's, Merc E-Class etc but couldn't find one that wasn't too expensive or done 180k.

This came up, so wrangled my brother to take a run up to Auchterarder with me

So, any plans? Yeah.

Would like to get parking sensors onto it (gotten too used to them in my last few cars, and it's a bloody long fucker)
LED DRL headlights
Replace the rear LED lights as they have went a bit foosty (although, I might try using some wet/dry sandpaper and see how it goes)
19's - the current 18's look lost in the arches.
Remap - An extra 50bhp and 80lb/ft
Exhaust - these can sound pretty nice for a diesel.

But, as a sad old man these days, all the money goes towards the kid, so dunno if these will ever happen, but it's nice to have plans, eh?

It looks a good comfy place to cover lots of miles! What's the MPG supposed to be like?

It's a bit of an odd selection of options they went with: upgraded lights and stereo but cloth and no reverse sensors?

Looks good. Will the 19's compromise the ride quality? I'd try them for a few months before selling the 18's just in case? Does look like a good place to sit. :D

Yeah, it's a 1 owner car. They spec'd it up in a strange way

Not done too many miles in it (and won't really do too much either). Needed another car (wife has an Audi Q5) and it needed to be new enough (and something the wife would actually drive if need be) and big enough to deal with the whole load of stuff that comes with a 10 month old daughter.

So far it's doing about 30mpg around town and about 38 on the motorway.

It's currently VERY barge like. So lowered a bit and a wee difference in tyre size shouldn't make too much difference.

Will keep the 18's as they are the car's originals and could stick winter tyres on them.

Maybe, but depends as I've got a friend's daughters birthday party early on too.
