Looking good Allan. There seems to be a massive soft stop for these going around right now!

Well I have decided to make a start on the GTV. Water in the oil, AND blowing steam from exhaust. I did a compression test today, cold, and the figures were as follows, 202, 202, 202, 202, 210, 220psi. No obvious bad one, plugs were also all good, again no obvious one.

Todays update. All cylinders check out the same, no obvious clean one, so, cam covers off, not pretty but no obvious wear. Going to bite the bullet and lift the heads and see where the problem lies. (Once I remember where I put the cam locks.)

Looks like you're going to have a job on your hands, so keep the pictures coming and keep us all updated. I'm sure you'll have it back together and running a treat before long. :D

It makes it easier having a complete spare engine in the wings if it goes ***** up! ;)

Well got the cam locks fitted , cam sprockets off.Radiators removed. Going to try and get the heads off with the engine in, just out of curiosity. If not will just drop it out the bottom. Watch this space.

Eventually an update. Had loads on, Spider got run into, and was doing a deal on my old Maserati, and this took a back seat. Some people said you could remove the heads in situ, others said you couldn't, so I thought I would try it and see, nightmare! Couldn't manage as there was no clearance. So dropping the engine, should be out in the next day or so if I have time. Spider wise I am still waiting for JIG space didn't realise how busy these places are. No great rush as I have other stuff to sort out in the meantime.
