MX-5 Donor car for project

MX-5 Donor car for project

Postby Angelus » Mon Jan 18, 2016 12:18 pm

So, I'm now looking for an MX-5 donor car, preferable a 1.8ltr and running. I need the running gear, sub-frames, engine and gearbox, so body damage/rust isn't a big deal. :o

Actually need 2 of them, as someone else is going to do the same project. He's got more time than me, so his project will turn out better than mine...

If you spot the perfect one a distance away I'll go get it and bring it home for a small fee.

One of the guys on Scottish Fivers was stripping down a couple of cars so might be able to help out. I've pm'd him to see if he has any of the bits you need.

Another place to check out for good cheap parts is AK Automotive in the North East of England...

Any help appreciated, I'd prefer to get a driver I can test and strip myself, but obviously working to a budget. :D

Probably, just looking into a project to tide me over next year. Had a project nailed down, but someone ( Ted ) has now thrown a spanner in the works and I'm looking at various ways to cover an MX-5 drive train on a very strict budget. Might be doing a tandem build with him? :D

Late reply but ME!
I've got a 1.8 mk2 that i'm getting rid of due to rust, rest of it runs lovely! even a new wheel bearing!

£600,
I'll even chuck in a spare set of 14s and suspension
you'll make all the money back by selling the other stuff.

Arrrgh, I've just shelled out for a turbo for my 911 and cash is short for the next couple of months. How soon you want to sell?
