First up we had news of the latest happenings at Ecurie Ecosse that they will be running their 2014 Spec BMW Z4 GT3 in bothΒ Blancpain Endurance Series and Avon Tyres British GT Championship. Their drivers for this season will beΒ Marco Attard andΒ Alexander Sims. Does anyone else think their Z4 looks awesome and that BMW should have made another M version of the current car?
Next we were all looking forward to watching Touring Car Legends presented byΒ Tiff Needell. Did anyone manage to catch it? The 80s and 90s had to be the best eras for me but itβs nearly impossible to pick out a favourite car. If pushed Iβd have to go with the Sierra CosworthΒ RS500 due to its sheer domination. Hereβs a preview and youβll be able to catch the next episode on ITV on Wednesday night:
After the BTCC we turned out attention to rallying, classic Porsche rallying to be more precise, and we were looking at this beauty
It might not be a factory RS but it has some titles under itβs name and it certainly looks the part. At Β£50k would you fancy ragging it after you bought it?Β 1973 Porsche 911 3.0 RS
From rally creations toβ¦.ummmβ¦.this
This F40 βrecreationβ is so bad that itβs good. Itβs worth having a read through the build page once you let Google Translate do its thing. You canβt blame them for trying β who doesnβt want a F40?
Next we were looking at some videos, the first one being Maseratiβs Superbowl TV ad
http://youtu.be/KmpiwU50f5w
and the second being Top Gear Koreea (did anyone else not know that exists?) crashing an $11m helicopter after using it to race a Corvette ZR 1.
The question was then posed: βis this the greatest rally car ever rebuilt?β
After a great week the TartanTarmac guys got together for a quick breakfast meet. Weβll be having much bigger ones soon (and I wonβt need to do the cooking) so keep your eyes peeled for that news.
