Bo’ness Revival Hillclimb 2014

We’ve brought you reports from the Silverstone Classic and Goodwood this year but there is a classic moving cars show a lot closer to home, the Bo’ness Revival. A full weekend of hillclimb racing, set in the prestigious grounds of Kinneil Estate and starring a wide range of vehicles pre-1973. This year celebrating 80 years of motorsport at the site.

The hillclimb event was relaunched 7 years ago and has grown every year since with recent redevelopment opening up the viewing areas for spectators. You’re not left wanting for action as each competitor gives it the beans between the hay bales, it’s quite spectacular viewing from the grandstand or trackside alike.

As is the way with most events in Scotland it’s a refreshingly inclusive atmosphere where you can walk freely around the paddock, chat to the teams and soak up some of the history on display. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s all just for shits n giggles though, some of these guys and gals are commited to winning their respective classes as is proved by the clipped bales and scarred bodywork.

Saturday is generally the less busy of the the 2 days although there was a good number of cars on display in the show area next to the house. Entrance to which is curiously accessed across the track between group runs. Several car clubs attended the show over the weekend to compliment the racing nicely.

Here’s a few pictures from the day to whet your appetite :

Hope to see you all there next year.

If you were there, feel free to tell us about it and add your pictures : http://www.tartantarmac.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=579
