Go Motorsport Live! – 16th August, Knockhill

If, like us, petrol runs through your veins, you actually enjoy the smell of lightly toasted rubber and every supermarket trip contains at least 3 trolley races (competitors aware or not), it will be worthwhile setting aside Sunday the 16th August and taking the short trip to Knockhill Racing Circuit. There you will find an expansive smorgasbord of 4 wheeled racing on offer.

This is not just any standard race day though. The purpose of Go Motorsport Live! is to introduce new people to the many different forms of competition available in Scotland. To quote the Scottish Motor Sports press release :

“There will be club representation from Karting, Rallying, Cross Country and everything in between.”

“Visitors can enjoy action from the Scottish Motor Racing Championship, experience club motor sport from the passenger seat with exhilarating AutoSolo passenger rides, witness live demonstrations and check out a fantastic variety of club displays.”

If that’s not enough to get you out of bed on a Sunday then this might, it’s absolutely FREE! Simply register on the www.GoMotorsport.net website. Doing so will also automatically enter you into the free prize draw to win tickets to the MSA BTCC round at the same venue on the 23rd August. Can’t say fairer than that.

Rory Bryant, National Development Officer for Scottish Motor Sports, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming visitors to Go Motorsport Live! Scotland. Every week there is a fantastic variety of club motor sport happening all over Scotland and this is a great chance for us to show how easy it is to get involved either as a competitor or a volunteer.”

So if you’ve never been to a race weekend or simply fancy going to what could be a huge event this year, get yourselves  organised and head on up.

We’ll be looking to have a Tartan Tarmac group there on the day so be sure to add your name to the thread in the forum.

See you all there.
