TT Drives the Ferrari F12

The 24th May was just one of those days that I figured was gonna be pretty good. The weather was dry, I was feeling good and there was a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta with my name on it waiting for me at Graypaul Ferrari in Edinburgh. Yep TT had a shot of an F12 and it was EPIC!

Infact EPIC doesn’t even come close, this thing was just mindblowing, the rate at which it built speed is like nothing I have ever driven before and I’ve driven a few fast cars in my time.

The sound of the engine was glorious, a proper V12, no turbos here, an engine shared with the new LaFerrari although the LF has some electric motors on top to give it over 900 BHP, the engine on it’s own with the F12 provides a very respectable 730 BHP, yep you read it right 730!!!

0-60 is dispatched in 3.0 seconds dead and 0-100 in 6.5, I had always wondered what it would be like to drive a McLaren F1 when they appeared in the 90’s, well today I found out as the F12 is every bit as fast and my god is it good.

F122

Brakes are as you would expect from massive carbon ceramics immense, great pedal feel and very very powerful. WIth a price tag of around £280,000 it would take a lottery win for me to be able to afford one but if my numbers do ever come up Graypaul is guaranteed a share.

I also drove a 458 spider on the day, it was amazing too, but slightly overshadowed by how awesome the F12 was, I had big plans for a video but had a bit of a filming disaster, my external gopro lasted 5 mins, which was useless and my 6 month old Daughter who was with us had a sense of humour failure on the day so was kicking off with Mummy while Daddy was out driving fancy cars so all in all I didn’t get the time I would have liked to produce a decent video, what we’ve got though is a couple of minutes watching me drive the F12 which I’m sure you’ll be able to tell I enjoyed immensely, my face when my foot goes to the floor tells a story in itself 🙂
